The Other Sam You

One Saturday evening, my partner and I were very hungry and we wanted a good meal at Sam You. Lo and behold, the restaurant was fully packed when we got there. There were no more small tables and we were turned away with apologies.

All was not lost as there is another Sam You, or rather Sam U Claypot Restaurant in the vicinity. So we took a short walk and thankfully there were many seats when we got there.

A lady came to take our orders and she stopped us after our third dish. We wanted to add half a kampung chicken to our bittergourd fried in salted egg, baby French beans and sweet and sour pork ribs. The chicken is quite big, she told us, but we asked her to go ahead with our orders. Well, she obviously does not know us yet hee..hee...

The bittergourd came first and it was nice. This is one of my favorites.

The sweet and sour pork ribs were quite good but not as good as the ones at the other Sam You.

I love these baby French beans.

And I love this steamed kampung chicken even more. Oooo...my favorite!

Best eaten with these ginger and chili dip.

The lady kept glancing at us whenever she passed by. Needless to say, we polished everything clean hee..hee..hee...

When she came to present the bill, we pointed out to her that we ate everything up. She had a good laugh and now that we have made our mark, she'll know that four dishes are fine by us.
